Iraqi Election!

Any person can have a wicked thought or dream. No person is always a good person. Democracy has the capacity to seperate evil dreams or aspirations from the power and capability to make those dreams come true.

This function of democracy acts as a natural constraint on the will to power. If the constitution can implement this with a reasonable amount of checks and balances, then never again can a man such as Saddam rise to power. So long as the people stand up for their freedom and defend it, they can live free of governmental control and oppression.

A chant for peace hear us,
I call on the innocent souls that have parted, hear us,
Who fought and believed in this freedom, hear us,
Come forth to avenge the living, hear us,
To take down the disbelievers, hear us,
To end the terrorist evil, hear us,
We ask for them to be dealt with, hear us,

Oh mighty, peaceful spirit of life everlasting, defeat the evil against these good people and all good people here on earth, that have suffered so long, hear us,

We would like the terrorist dead, we would like them all dead, and we want the evil with them to descend to a place only you can destroy, with your almighty hand, to the everlasting fires of hell. Oh Lord of Lords we pray, and may they never surface again, may you keep them in the darkness, of all eternity. (Keep repeating)

So much for the virgins! So give it up, you loose, you scum sucking terrorist!

A great day for Iraq!!

Hoever, the Democrat Party was ill-served by the nearly exclusive coverage on John Kerry's pitaful and sour-grapish comments about it. I fully expect he was booked for Meet the Press because the MSM expected death, destruction and failure. As it was, it didn't do the Dem Cause anything but harm.

Lieberman was on Fox and sounded just great! Complimentary to the result but cautious. But that will not be the image most of America would have gotten.

dcat,

Were I to rely upon chants to carry the day, I would aim higher than death to terrorists. I would chant for their transformation. :) Swords to plowshares, my friend.

Michael,

I saw neither the Kerry nor Leiberman appearances so I can't assess them for style. I do respect both of those great American heroes and wish them success. does have some good content. He starts by thanking the troops, he then urges us not to increase our expectations too drastically. I see this as prudent and in harmonic concert with President Bush's larger goals.
Then Kerry goes on to propose some good steps that are being taken or ought to recieve more focus. Training of Iraqis, reconstruction, increased services and international involvement, and more elections. It is very familiar ground for him as his campaign focused on these elements for Iraq as well.

Kerry then goes on to distance himself from Kennedy's request for 12K troops to come home and to attack the notion of a timetable, but to support the sentiment of reducing the sense of occupation. Again, this mirror's the Bush plan and is entirely responsible and on message. He also voiced support for Bush's next round of ex-budget spending of 80 Billion. He then went into his many disagreements with the President on domestic issues, but on Iraq he toed the line 100%

None of that appears as "sour grapes" to me, but then I didn't see the man's face or hear his voice. Just the words. I imagine that as a feeling human being who has very recently strived for something and not achieved it that there are some personal inflections that may come across as "sour", but I would never begrudge him the validity of those feelings either. Instead I salute him for rising above his personal situation and taking the country as his first priority and projecting the right message. It shows that he is capable as a great human being as well as a servant of the public good.
